Configuring student reading groups in the Lexia Core5 program allows you to tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of your students. This guide will walk you through the steps to create and manage reading groups effectively.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Log in to Your Lexia Core5 Account
- Go to the Lexia Core5 login page: Lexia Core5 Login.
- Enter your district administrator credentials (username and password).
- Click Log In.
Step 2: Access the Student Management Section
- Once logged in, navigate to the Dashboard.
- Click on the Student Management tab located in the main navigation menu.
Step 3: Select the Class
- In the Student Management section, locate the class for which you want to configure reading groups.
- Click on the class name to view the list of enrolled students.
Step 4: Create a New Reading Group
- In the class overview, click the Reading Groups button.
- Select Create New Group from the dropdown menu.
- Enter a name for your new reading group (e.g., "Advanced Readers," "Struggling Readers").
- Click Next.
Step 5: Add Students to the Reading Group
- A list of students enrolled in the selected class will appear.
- Check the boxes next to the names of students you want to add to the reading group.
- Once you have selected all the desired students, click Add to Group.
Step 6: Configure Group Settings

After adding students, you will be prompted to configure the group settings:
- Instructional Focus: Select the primary focus for the group (e.g., fluency, comprehension, vocabulary).
- Group Goals: Set specific goals for the group based on their reading levels and needs.
- Review your selections and click Save Group Settings.
Step 7: Monitor Progress
- After creating the reading group, you can monitor progress by returning to the Reading Groups section.
- Click on the group name to view individual student progress and performance metrics.
- Use this data to adjust instruction as needed to support each student’s learning journey.
